The stallion Lester was imported from the Netherlands as a yearling. He is registered with the Barock Pinto (Baroque Pinto in English) Studbook. The Barock Pinto Studbook looks to breed a quality, elegant horse with exceptional character. It is a young organization with a growing and enthusiastic membership. The Barock Pinto horse is rapidly gaining in popularity. Desiring to create “something special” by crossing Friesian horses with warm-blooded horses, the ultimate breeding goal is to produce a black and white horse with a friendly and workable character. The combination of Friesian x Warmblood makes for beautiful offspring and a horse with a lot of presence. “It’s something special, a real show horse”. Barock Pinto horses are bred for both recreation horses and for the rider with the ambition to compete at the highest level. Low kinship within the population and strong genes help strengthen the breed. Inspections are held regularly in the Netherlands, and more and more inspections are being held in other countries. The Barock Pinto Studbook is active in more than 15 countries.
Lester has not yet been to a Barock Pinto inspection but we are planning on bringing him the next time one is held in an area of the US that makes driving that distance feasible. Lester is 62.5% Friesian blood and 37.5% KWPN blood.
